Bio: My name is Rachel Charette. I grew up in Ballston Spa, New York; a small town within Saratoga County. I have spent the past four years in Buffalo, New York, earning my Bachelor of Arts in History. I completed two minors during my undergraduate years; Education and Educational Leadership and Policy for Equity. During that time, I also worked as a Resident Advisor for two years within First-Year Residence Halls and as a Student Administrative Assistant. Exploring the field of education through my classes and as being a Paraprofessional allowed me the opportunities to learn more about Higher Education, Student Affairs, educational pedagogy, and ways in which I can help make an impact on student’s lives. I used these interests to develop my Senior Thesis which focused on gendered activism; allowing me  to gain research experience and a larger context for identities and their impact on student’s lives. Starting in the Fall of 2018, I will be an Assistant Residence Hall Director. I hope to continue to learn and to help students within this role.

Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, art, cooking, and music. I love movie nights and trips to museums. I am very much looking forward to being a part of the UConn community and go Huskies!
